1. Log on to an overseas network while roaming

 

Since 1O1O is among one of the first operators in the world that brings 4G LTE to you, it is expected that most of the roaming countries in the world currently cannot support 4G LTE, in order to ensure you can get the best customer's experience while abroad.

 

Please check out the tips below:

 
  1. Before leaving Hong Kong
    1. Check roaming coverage, tariff and supporting network type on our 1O1O website Please visit Coverage & Charges under Roaming & IDD at 1O1O website about the latest coverage and the prevailing charge and see what the network type of your visiting countries.
       
    2. Check your APN setting Please check if APN setting is changed to “LTE.internet”

       
    3. Switch the network preference
      The device will always try to search the available network with the best coverage and it may take longer time to search for the applicable network when you are abroad. It’s recommended to switch the network preference as the below steps before you leave Hong Kong
      i) Plug in 4G LTE Modem and disconnect the active data connection, if any.
      ii) Click Connection Manager> Settings> Preference> UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/DC-HSPA+>Apply
        
       
    4. Using our 3G dongle rental service
      USA /Canada network do not support 4G/LTE Modem and only supports using “Edge only” network. If you prefer to using a quicker 3G network in USA/Canada, please change the setting to “Edge only” or please use our rental service and visit 1O1O Central, Tsim Sha Tsui or Airport Centre to rent a 3G dongle. Rental fee is waived (normally $98 per week+) for LTE users.
        
       
  2. While you are abroad
    While you are roaming overseas, the device need to search for the applicable network and the searching time will be around 3 minutes.
     
  3. When you are back to Hong Kong
    While you are back to Hong Kong, please change the network preference back to ‘Automatic” in order to enjoy 1O1O’s 4G LTE network and the best 4G fast speed experience in Hong Kong

3. Sign up to low cost Roaming Data Services

  • DataRoam Day Pass:
    1. Handset users: Press *103*1# send, iPhone/Android Apps for unlimited mobile data usage at a fixed daily rate
    2. Dongle or tablet users: Please call + 852 2888 1010, visit a 1O1O Centre or sign up through Data Roaming Package> DataRoam Day Pass
 

+ The waiver of the rental fee is not inclusive of the charges for Data Roam Day Pass.
