Home Wi-Fi Consultancy Service Terms and Conditions

Home Wi-Fi consultancy service (this “Consultancy Service”) is provided by Hong Kong Telecommunications (HKT) Limited (“HKT”).
This Consultancy Service is available to select customers of the HKT Group, including 1O1O HOME and 1O1O mobile customers, and is only available to eligible customers at designated residential areas.
By using this Consultancy Service, customer acknowledges that he/she has read, understood and agrees to be bound by all relevant terms and conditions, including the prevailing version of these Terms and Conditions, as well as the relevant Privacy Statement and Personal Information Collection Statement.
HKT reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice. Customers can access the latest version of these Terms and Conditions at the 1O1O HOME website at https://www.1010.com.hk/en/1010home and the 1O1O mobile website at www.1010.com.hk.
This Consultancy Service includes a visit to customer’s home by one of our consultants, who will seek to understand the domestic environment concerned, along with its interior design, plus the online habits of household members – all in order to provide advice tailored to the customer’s needs and preferences. This Consultancy Service does not include the provision of any broadband service nor router.
To use this Consultancy Service, eligible customers are required to contact 1O1O Personal Assistant to schedule an appointment. This Consultancy Service is only available on specified dates and times, on a first-come-first-served basis. Customers are required to select a designated date and time and provide an address and contact number for scheduling an appointment. Once confirmed, a Consultancy Service appointment cannot be changed except for special reasons. A HKT Home Wi-Fi consultant will confirm the appointment by phone / SMS / WhatsApp the day before or on the day of the visit.
Customers are required to (i) prove they have obtained all necessary permissions to allow HKT staff to enter the residential premises for the provision of this Consultancy Service; and (ii) ensure that the premises are maintained clean and safe.
In the event of adverse weather or other factors preventing the provision of this Consultancy Service, HKT reserves the right to modify, suspend, cancel, or terminate the provision of this Consultancy Service.
HKT does not guarantee this Consultancy Service or any associated services. Any service content and advice offered are for reference only. HKT does not guarantee that this Consultancy Service will necessarily enhance the quality of a customer’s Wi-Fi experience. Comprehensive Wi-Fi coverage requires installation of a specified number of routers or wireless base stations at certain locations, as recommended by the consultant concerned. Wi-Fi coverage depends on a residential premises’ layout, as well as building materials, other external factors, the customer’s indoor coverage requirements and the consultant’s advice. If a customer’s premises are a duplex or multi-storey residence, a wired network solution must be installed on each floor. Customers must pay any additional fees (if applicable), in accordance with Wi-Fi Consultancy Service recommendations.
All eligible 1O1O HOME and 1O1O mobile customers may use this Consultancy Service free of charge until further notice, but HKT and/or relevant service providers of the HKT Group reserve(s) the right to charge fees at any point in the future.
When using this Consultancy Service, a customer must take personal responsibility for assessing and assuming all risks and agree that HKT shall not be held liable for any form of damage to the customer or others.
HKT strives to provide convenient and effective service, but does not guarantee that this Consultancy Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or without delay.
This Consultancy Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. HKT makes no warranty, neither express nor implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement of third-party rights. To the extent permitted by applicable laws, HKT disclaims any and all warranties and liabilities.
HKT and its employees, directors, agents and licensees shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss, injury, error, omission and disruption arising from, or relating to, use of this Consultancy Service, even if HKT has been advised of, or could have foreseen the possibility of, such damages. To the maximum extent permitted by law, any claims arising from use of this Consultancy Service shall be limited to the fees paid by the customer.
A customer’s right to benefit from this Consultancy Service is entirely at the discretion of the HKT Group service provider concerned, which may at any time suspend, restrict, or terminate any customer’s right to use this Consultancy Service, via which this Consultancy Service is arranged, without notice and without providing any reason.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, this Consultancy Service cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount, offer or promotion.
The HKT Group reserves the right to modify or terminate this Consultancy Service and/or these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice. In the event of dispute, the decision of HKT shall be final.
Except for members of the HKT Group, no entity other than HKT, the relevant service provider(s) of the HKT Group and customers has a right to enforce any of these Terms and Conditions under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance (Cap 623 of the Laws of Hong Kong).
In the event of inconsistency between the Chinese and English versions of these Terms and Conditions, the English shall prevail (the Chinese version is provided for reference only).
These Terms and Conditions are governed by, and construed to be in accordance with, the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (“Hong Kong”) and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts in respect of resolving any dispute in connection with these Terms & Conditions.
